Hmm, just keep trying at it. I'm sure you'll clear it eventually!
It takes me a lot of tries before I can get very far on most of the challenges anyway.

Tips

1. more bersercer mode times -more rings
2. more kills enemies -more rings
3. more intermittent plasma-attacks in boss -more rings
4. 750+ rings can be collected before the boss - NEEDED 710 BEFORE THE BOSS!
