We've got pretty exciting news today for all fellow Söldner-X 2 gamers. We are very pleased to share with you that we are currently working on an expansion pack for Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype, titled 'Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype - The Last Chapter'.

'The Last Chapter' is in the making right now and will launch later this year (most likely in the final quarter of 2010). Here's a quick list of what you can expect:

- Three brand new stages
- Lots of new challenges (final number to be confirmed)
- New trophies to unlock
- A new difficulty mode*

The new difficulty mode will also be made available for Söldner-X 2 gamers that do not purchase the expansion pack.

More information, including new screenshots and videos will be released during the next few weeks, so don't forget to check back often! In the meantime, here's an artwork from one of the upcoming bosses in 'Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype - The Last Chapter'. Enjoy!

I'll have my doubts, I'll wait and see the actual content before I sink more money into SX-2. If its more of the same, I'll actually pass on the content.

The question is: Will I have time for this expansion, or will I be too busy posting on all the forums of all the games I have no interest in?

Really, it sucks that there isn't much choice on PS3 when it comes to Shmupping, but SX2 has just been perfect for me. My guess would be that the new levels will be side-scrolling shmup levels, with enemies that shoot bullet patterns and including bosses. I am convinced that it'll be more of the same in that way. Since I liked this "the same," more of it is quite welcome. If I wouldn't like it, I just spend my time liking something else and diverting my attention to that.

Look, it's clear that you don't like SX2. That's ok, because I don't like SX:H as much. But you don't see me posting in every SX:H thread about how much I don't like that game. (It's an okay game for me, just not a brilliant game...)

Just let it go, and let us Final Prototype fans enjoy it, because you seem to have run out of constructive critisism here.

Looking forward to it too. By the time it comes out the need for more Söldner should be there since it's a fantastic game and I haven't had this much fun with a shooter since the golden days of Gradius and Life Force.

New difficulty level, lo - err...still gotta do an Extra Hard run...
New trophies...well, I'm 100% on Final Prototype right now (not that it would matter anyway), but I'm still interested in seeing what they have to offer.

Though, it really seems that they're pushing different variations of 'final' into their titles, so maybe they're hinting that they're about to end the Soldner-X franchise...I wouldn't blame them if they did, but it would still be very hard to see Soldner-X end for good. Hopefully it's just a misnomer...but either way, I'll be with SideQuest and eastasiasoft with any future projects!

I hope we'll see "true" final boss this time
