Yes it's definitively a tough mode, but it can be done if you practice and learn patterns (as those who uploaded scores on nightmare mode have proven).

In general the difficulty modes in Soldner-X 2 are a bit easier (the dynamic play rank kind of adjusts this if you aren't so good), but there's lots of room for score improvements. In our tests our scores for a complete run ranged roughly between 5-100 million points. We are quite excited to see how this will play out once the game is available.
Also some of the challenges are tougher, so there should be something for all kind of players.
