Sometimes I miss one and only have three lives when I enter World 5 (I tend to die just before Windgeist, but still manage to S-rank World 4, which is funny)...it's tricky to time your weapon switches at some points, because your chain energy fills up so fast!

Apparently Delci and you collected different world 2 ships? I'm sorry but I don't even think a ship exists in world 2 unless theres some bug where chain 9 changes from flame -> extra life the second loop if you take 12 minutes or something on the boss to rechain the entire thing. I know the PC version its in a rock but collecting an extra ship in world 2, but not on the PS3.

PS: There is a maximum # of extra ships of 4 (I think PS3 was 4, one of them had 4) so theres no real need to carry more than. 3 is chain, 4 has a drop and chain and so did world 5.

Whoops...got my versions mixed up. I meant the PC version. There is a New Life in a bulkhead in Thesis V (World 2).
In the PS3 version, I get about three New Lives total. That's about all I can manage, even though I chain like a madman (most of the time I end up getting just near the 9th Chain level limit or resetting it).

Yea, 4 and 5 have dropped lives (mostly I miss the one on 4 since if you destroy the unit too high you can't retrieve it ) but chaining on world 4 means a slow boss time (I've done it for my entire SX-1 career, why stop?) but you can get an extra life to make a win easier. 3 You can stall the boss if your prepared for it, just make sure you get to phase two of it before you start or it will be difficult.
