Hi Drasgon,
Welcome to the boards! Glad to have you here, pilot.
In regard to your question, Soldner-X games save automatically when you are taken back to the main menu from any level you happen to be playing in (i.e. quitting a stage, getting a game over, clearing or failing a challenge, or uploading a high score). There is no 'save' option.
Hope this helps!

Oh, I see what you mean now. I'm pretty sure there's a specific save file that the disc creates in a certain directory that shows up when the disc is in the drive...but I'm really not sure. Perhaps Final Prototype or eastasiasoft could clear this up!

How to backup and restore SX1 savegame data. 1 Year, 5 Months ago

The savegame for SX1 (PC) is stored in the windows registry.
That is because the game doesn't need any installation and can run directly from disc.
You can export and import registry chunks and therefore backup, load and save the SX1 save game data.
Please note that all registry modifications are at your own risk. By deleting keys or entering improper changes, your computer can become unusable! We only recommend this for users which are experienced with the registry editor.
How to backup the savegame data?
1.) Start the registry editor (Startmenu/run/regedit)
2.) Choose the following node:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SideQuest Studios/SoldnerX
3.) By clicking with the right mouse button on this node (In the treeview on the left side), a context menu will pop up, where you find an export function.
4.) Choose this function and a file requester will open, allowing you to save the sx1 savegame to any folder you want.
How to restore exported savedata?
1.) Simply double click on the .reg file you have exported.
2.) A requester will pop up, asking you if you want to add the data to the registry.
3.) Click yes. That's all.
Kind regards,
SX Support Team
