To launch on Steam December 2nd, console versions in the works
Hong Kong – October 7, 2026 – Independent developer and publisher Eastasiasoft Limited announced today that anime-style visual novel Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan will be coming to Steam on December 2nd, 2026. To commemorate this announcement, a new gameplay trailer has been shared on the official Eastasiasoft Limited YouTube channel and social media accounts. Console versions are in development.
Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan is an officially licensed revival of FIERY THUNDERBOLT, a classic Asian soap opera centered on the rivalry between two families, marked by business conflicts and personal grudges. The story reveals long-held secrets and explores themes of revenge, love, and betrayal, with characters embodying both good and evil. Alongside the family drama, the series reflects on social class struggles and emotional relationships, making it a landmark in Taiwanese television history. The new game Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan reimagines the series’ story and characters in over-the-top anime style.
The game was recently selected by a panel at Taipei Game Show to be featured in an online exhibition during the Melbourne International Games Week, happening now between October 3rd and October 11th. Developer Toii Games was also invited to speak at the Taipei Game Developers Forum where the team shared its experience adapting a classic Taiwanese TV drama into a video game.
Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan is originally developed by Toii Games and will be published worldwide on all major consoles as well as Steam by Eastasiasoft Limited, fully localized with text support for English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. Re:Burn The Bonfire of Taiwan will be available digitally in a standard version or a deluxe edition including the digital art book and soundtrack. The Steam page is live and available for wishlisting. Digital pricing and further details on console release will be shared in the near future.
